Steven W. Probst

Steven W. Probst, 65, of Lock  Haven died Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his residence.

Steven was born October 27, 1957 in Lock Haven. He was the son of the late Donald E. and Darla Kay (Young) Heverly. He was raised by his Aunt Beatrice and Uncle Dan Probst.

He was married to the former Marcy J. Newman on August 15th 2019.

Steven was a paramedic for 18 years. He began as a fire fighter in 1986 and then completed his paramedic course that same year. He worked for Lock Haven Hospital for his entire paramedic career. He dedicated his life to serve and protect others. He loved hunting and fishing, painting and rooting for the Eagles.

He is survived his wife, and his 5 children Christopher Probst, Stacey Probst, Kaylee Probst, Alyssa Probst, Raechal Bitner and his stepson Tommy Newman. 8 grandchildren CJ Probst, Daymon Saucier, Parker and Drew Malone, Gavin and Carson Fremberg, Isaac and Emmett Horton.

He is also survived by his uncles, Clair (Bonnie) Young of Jersey Shore, Jay (Deanna) Young of Tyrone, Ronald (Nancy) Young of Lock Haven. His Aunt, Linda (Robert) Holter of Carlisle.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Danielle Lee Probst in 1979, two cousins Jeff & Billy Yarnell and an Uncle Gary Young.

The funeral service will be held at Noon on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with the Rev. Dennis A. Smith officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. – Noon.

Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Lock Haven.
