Ruth J. (Zell) Aldinger, 91, formerly of Elizabethtown passed away Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Bucktail Medical Center in S. Renovo, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of the late Harold V. Aldinger. The couple had shared 61 years of marriage together.
Born May 16, 1929 in Oberlin, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Janson) Zell. Ruth dedicated her life to taking care of her family on the family farm, she was wonderful wife and mother. She loved tending to her many beautiful flower gardens, but the gardens would always come second to spending time with her grandchildren.
Ruth was a member of the Conewago Church of The Brethren in Hershey, PA. She volunteered her time to assist with any of the Church’s needs, including being a Deaconess, singing in the choir, and serving as a member of the Auxiliary for Gideons International.
She is survived by four sons, Timothy V. Aldinger of Elizabethtown, Daniel L. (Twilla) Aldinger of Elizabethtown, Rodney D. (Valerie) Aldinger of Westport, and Brian E. Aldinger of Elizabethtown; eight grandchildren, Amy, Emily, Alyssa, Travis, Beth, Matthew, Cain, and Colton; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Miriam Aldridge of Elizabethtown, and Lois Ragan of Bainbridge. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Todd A. Aldinger; daughter, Marylin K. Aldinger; three brothers, Bruce, John “Red”, and Elwood Zell; and sister, Joy Yetter.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 5th St., in Renovo, PA has charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Churchville Cemetery in Steelton, PA.
