Miriam M. (Young) Pletcher

Miriam M. (Young) Pletcher, 80, of McElhattan passed away Friday, June 2, 2023 at UPMC Haven Place in Lock Haven where she was a patient since March 21st.

Born February 5, 1943 in Lock Haven she was a daughter of the late Clarence L. and Miriam E. (Shadle) Young.

Miriam was married to John M. “Mac” Pletcher who died August 8, 2005. They were married June 15, 1970.

She worked for Ames, Cobbler’s in Jersey Shore and retired from BiLo in 2003 where she worked in the deli.

Miriam attended McElhattan United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles and word search puzzles.

Surviving are a daughter, Jodi D. (Joseph) Gardner of Lock Haven and two grandchildren Mackenzie and Kylie. Also, two sisters; Violet (Rodney) Englert of Lock Haven and Tara Young of North Carolina.

She is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Pastor Don Peters officiating.

Friends and relatives will be received on Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral chapel.

Burial will follow at Dunnstown Cemetery, Lock Haven.

As a friendly reminder the Flemington bridge will be closed for repairs.
