Margaret Gloria (Freed) Evers, 84, of Lock Haven, died peacefully at her residence on Friday, June 10, 2022, in the presence of her son and her caregiver.
Born June 19, 1937 in Farrandsville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Dorothy Freed.
She attended school in Farrandsville in the old two room schoolhouse until she went to Lock Haven Junior and Senior High School. She graduated in 1955.
She married Frederick M. Evers, the love of her life, in 1955, and they remained together 55 years until his passing in 2011.
She was a homemaker and provided babysitting for the children of many friends and relatives over the years.
Surviving are her son, Jeffrey Evers, of Lock Haven; a sister Ethel and a niece Amber, both of Farrandsville; a niece, Kim Welsh, of Mill Hall; and nieces and nephews.
Margaret was a member of The Peoples Church of Farrandsville.
At Margaret’s request, there will be no services. She will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mill Hall, alongside her husband Fred.
The family would like to thank family members and UPMC Hospice nurses and home health aides — Angels on Earth — and her very special friend and caregiver, Arthur Knight Hammer of Milesburg.
Memorial donations may be made to UPMC or The Peoples Church of Farrandsville.
