Vonda K. Handte

Vonda K. (Wetzel) Handte, 60, of Woodland, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Born April 15, 1966, in Lock Haven, she was a daughter of Donald Wetzel, of Lamar, and the late Artis (Sample) Wetzel.

She was married to Donald R. Handte on Sept. 6, 1997. They celebrated 28 years of marriage together.

Vonda was a truck driver and a homemaker.

She enjoyed talking with her siblings and friends daily. She also enjoyed shopping and taking long rides with her husband.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Jessica Wetzel; a step-daughter, Jessica Manganello; a step-son, Christopher Handte; two grandchildren, Aven and Lucca; a brother, Wilbert (Laura) Lehman, of Tylersville; two sisters, Theresa (Jeffrey) Emel, of Phillipsburg, and Dawn (Lynn) Bean, of Osceola Mills; and several nieces and nephews.

Vonda was preceded in death by her mother and a son, Justin Johnson.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall, with Pastor Bob Zdziarski of Messiah Baptist Church, Kylertown, officiating.

Burial will follow at Tylersville Cemetery.

Friends and relatives will be received on Friday, May 15, from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral chapel.
