Theodor F. Johannssen

Theodor F. Johannssen, 81, of Lock Haven passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at The Gatehouse in Williamsport.

Born October 18, 1940 in New Rochelle, NY. He was a son of the late Carl T. and Hildegard L. (Dasse) Johannssen.

He was married on August 10, 1991 to the former Linda G. Frazier. They celebrated 30 years of marriage together.

Theodor was one of ten children.  He spent his early years in Germany, coming to Lagrangeville, NY when he was six. Known as “Theo” to his brothers and sisters, he grew up on a farm in Dutchess County, NY. He was the eldest son and was responsible for much of the farm work. He attended Arlington High School and his father took him out of school in his senior year to work the farm. He married young and had three sons and received his GED. He worked in sales most of his life.

Surviving are his loving wife, three sons, Teddy (Wendy) Johannssen of Ohio, Brian (Katy) Johannssen of CT and Darryl (Lisa) Johannssen of NE, one step-son Donald (Brenda) Lamey and two stepdaughters, Tracie (Steve) Kennedy and Gretchen (Heath) Soo all of Loganton.

Also surviving are two brothers Peter Johannssen and Paul (Lori) Johannssen both of Mohak, NY. Four sisters, Hildegard (Harold) VanVliet of Safety Harbor, FL, Inge (Alfred) Johannssen-Schultz of New Fairfield, CT, Carol (Robert) VanWagner of Poughkeepsie, NY, Charlotte (Arthur) Cilley of Danbury, CT. He is survived by 14 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Johannssen and two sisters Karen Johannssen and Carla Johannssen.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Pastor Brenda Mitchell officiating.

A visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Rosecrans Cemetery, Loganton.
