Ronald E. Long

Ronald E. Long, 83, of Summerson Mountain, PA passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023 at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport, PA.

Born August 11, 1940 in Renovo he was a son of the late Charles B. and Rose (Zollars) Long.

Ronald worked for Pepsi Company as a repair technician and retired after several years.

He enjoyed hunting and loved his family and friends and was a “people person”.

Ron loved watching the wildlife and tinkering around his house and fixing things. He was a former zoning inspector for Chapman Twp.

Surviving are his companion of many years Kathy Werts and two daughters; Sue (Alan) Billings and Roxann Staub both of Taneytown, MD.

Eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren two brothers; George Long and Lester “Bucky” Long and a sister Doris Mancini also survive him along with other family members; Amanda Long, Ted Dorn, Diana Dorn and their families.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by 3 sons; Steve Long, James Long and George Dorn as well as a son-in-law Ralph Staub, Sr. and 5 siblings.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at the Chapman Twp., Fire Hall, 79 Park Ave., North Bend with Martha Sykes officiating.
