Robert M. Nihart, 81, of Mill Hall passed away Friday, April 29, 2022 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital. He was born January 29, 1941 to Boyd and Mary (Miller) Nihart.
He was a self-employed carpenter and contractor.
He was married to his first wife Mary (Fye) Nihart who died in 1986. On April 22, 1990 he married the former Barbara Gardner and the celebrated 31 years of marriage together.
Robert was a member of Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ in Mill Hall. He enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, and riding his ATV. He enjoyed many trips to Disney World in Florida and he attended the Grange Fair for over 50 years. Robert enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and his special friend Dr. Richard Stuempfle.
Surviving are his loving wife; and three daughters Debra Nihart of Bath, NY, Bobbi (Mike) Kuhns of Williamsport and Tammy Nihart of Mill Hall, two step-daughters; Debra Morgret and Brenda Brown both of Farrandsville. Three granddaughters, Raychelle, Brooke and Amber and a grandson Josh. He is survived by 2 step-grandsons, 6 great granddaughters and 2 step-grandchildren.
Along with his parents and first wife he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ruben and James and three sisters, Thelma Snook, Edna Johnson and Janice Day.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2022 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Pastor Cindy Killinger officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one-hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Mt. Bethel Cemetery, Porter Twp.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to Mt. Bethel United Church of Christ c/o the funeral chapel.
