Robert “Bob” Bailey, 86, of Blackwell entered into the presence of the Lord Wednesday November 1, 2023 at his granddaughter’s house in York, PA. He was surrounded with love from family and friends during his final moments.

Born February 11, 1937 in Mount Joy, Bob was a son of the late Charles Bailey Sr. and Alma (Gingrich) Bailey. He attended Elizabethtown High School and Messiah College.

He served in the Army Reserve for six years then became a truck driver for Elizabethtown Creamery and Jubilee.

Bob was an avid hunter, fisher and trapper. He had an immense love for nature and animals, thus giving him the nickname “Mountain Man Bob”. He was a jokester and story teller who enjoyed making people smile and laugh.

He is survived by his only daughter; Lynne Warner of York, his two favorite granddaughters and two grandsons, 7 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter all of York, PA. He is also survived by 3 brothers Charles Jr, Kenneth and Donald all of Elizabethtown, PA and a slew of nieces and nephews.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from Noon – 1:00 p.m., Friday November 10, 2023 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.

There will be a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Run Baptist Cemetery with Pastor Gary Messinger officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Jersey Shore Honor Guard.

Burial will follow at Cedar Run Cemetery.
