Born May 30, 1933 in Stamford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Leon and beloved Mabel (Avery) Nafey.

Mary was well known for being an excellent crafter. In addition to knitting, crocheting and sewing, she was a certified teacher in the art of Bunka, a Japanese art of punch embroidery and thread painting using silk threads.

She loved to cook and bake for her family while using recipes that were passed down from the family’s Scotch-Irish, Italian, and Slovakian heritage. Mary loved to bowl and played on several leagues. She was also an avid cat lover.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two beloved brothers, George and Herbert Nafey; her beloved sister, Elsie Farley; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Gubitose.
