Louise E. Allen

LOCK HAVEN - Louise E. (Bitner) Allen, 97, of Beech Creek died Friday, January 25, 2019 at Haven Rehab and Skilled Nursing, Lock Haven.

Born June 7, 1921 in Beech Creek she was a daughter of the late Charles & Mary (Heverly) Bitner.

Louise was married on June 30, 1956 to George E. Allen who died August 13, 1976. They celebrated 20 years of marriage together.

She worked for Sylvania in Mill Hall.

Louise was a member and treasurer of the former Beech Creek United Methodist Church.

She was a 1939 graduate of Lock Haven High School. She enjoyed traveling, shopping and going out to eat with friends and family.

Louise was known as the “Matriarch of the Bitner family”.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews, Anna Confer, Rob Confer, Pat Dickey, Robert Bitner, Dennis Bitner, Jolene Styers, Elaine Butler, Shirley Poorman, Richard Weaver, Joyce Weaver and Fred Bitner.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sue Confer, Lillian Weaver, Kathryn Chambers and three brothers, Russell Bitner, Fred Bitner, Robert Bitner.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2019 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.

Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be private at Christian Cemetery, Beech Creek.
