Josephine M. Reeves

Josephine M. Reeves, 86, formerly of Ebensburg passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Bucktail Medical Center in S. Renovo. She was the wife of William R. Reeves. The couple married on June 1 of 1957 and recently celebrated their 63rd anniversary.

Born August 3, 1933, Josephine was the daughter of the late William and Adella (Waylonis) Makufka. She graduated with a teaching degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and went on to teach elementary school in DuBois and later retired from Penn Cambria School District.

She was a talented pianist who also played the organ for her church. Josephine was known for her excellent cooking skills and she enjoyed needle crafts including, knitting, cross stitching, and crocheting. In her later years, she obtained certification as a peer supporter through the Pennsylvania Empowered Expert Residents Program.

Josephine is survived by her husband, William; one son, Timothy J. (Michelle) Reeves of Renovo; one daughter, Kathleen A. (Ediseo Semeao) Reeves of Glen Mills; six grandchildren, Ryan and Adam Weinshiemer, Laura and Emily Reeves, and Ben and Anne Semeao; three great-grandchildren, Declan, Brooke, and Teagen; one sister, Patricia M. Hontz; and one son-in-law, Bruce Weinshiemer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan M. Weinshiemer; and her brother, Robert Makufka.

A memorial service will be planned for a later date. Maxwell Funeral Home in Renovo has charge of arrangements.
