Joseph E. Costulas, 70, of North Bend passed away Monday, September 18, 2023 at his residence.
Born June 13, 1953 in Renovo he was a son of the late George J. Costulas, Sr. and Catherine H. (Teti) Costulas.
He was married on September 26, 1981 to the former Georgette L. LaVanture. They celebrated almost 42 years of marriage together.
He was a truck driver for many years until he started G & J Excavating with his wife. He then opened Scoot’s Service Center in Renovo.
Joe was a 1972 graduate of Bucktail High School. He enjoyed history, Fox News, old history movies, the beach, sitting on the bench at the store greeting and talking with others. He enjoyed his coffee club with his old high school buddies.
He was not afraid to tell others how it is and give directions on how to get there.
Joe always had a smile on his face and could get anyone to laugh. He was full of life, very humble, giving, thoughtful and an early riser. He loved his coffee, telling jokes, stories, cooking and being a host for entertaining.
He always bragged about his kids and grandkids. Joe was so proud of them.
Surviving are his loving wife, two sons, Joseph J. Costulas of Renovo and Christopher Costulas of S. Williamsport and his daughter, Sarah Peslis of Lewisberry. Four grandchildren, Ava Renae, George Joseph, Athanasia Diamanto and Capria Marie.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Mary Christine Costulas and Diane Costulas and a brother, George J. “JuJu” Costulas.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth St., Renovo with Martha Sykes officiating.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be private.
