John A. Stevenson, Sr.

John A. Stevenson, Sr., 78, of Jersey Shore passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College.

Born July 28, 1946 in Jersey Shore he was a son of the late Wilmer and Louise (Peluso) Stevenson.

John was married on March 22, 1964 to the former Barbara E. Embick who died May 25, 2015. They were married 51 years.

He worked for AVCO in Williamsport.

John enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a member of the NRA.

Surviving are three sons; John (Michele) Stevenson, Jr., Wilmer (Shelly) Stevenson and Daniel (Fawn) Stevenson all of Jersey Shore and three daughters; Melanie Winters and Michelle Bechdel both of Jersey Shore and Melissa Geise of Lock Haven and his spiritual wife; Pam Gower.

Eighteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren survive.

One sister, Martha Ohl of Walnutport.

Along with his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a brother Jim and two sisters, Josephine Embick and Mary Embick.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.

Interment will be private at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
