MILL HALL - James L. Lomax, 84, formerly of Renovo, died on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at his home.

He was born in Renovo on March 4, 1940 and was the son of the late John and Frances (Conway) Lomax.

James married the former Carol R. (Raemsch) on March 12, 1960 and they celebrated 61 years of marriage together until her death on February 8, 2022.

He served his country proudly in the United States National Guard for six years.

James worked as a welder and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed time on Summerson mountain with his son, Mark.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law; Mark and Linda Lomax of Montoursville, Fred Lomax of Flemington and Jim and Hyun Lomax of Mill Hall, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister: Margaret of Ohio.

In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by one grandson; Justin Lomax, one brother; Ron and three sisters; Joan, Marlene and Louise.

The family would like to thank the care that was given to him by his sisters-in-law; Arlene and Stella and the special care from his niece, Becky.

Private family services will be held at Helt Funeral Chapel, Mill Hall followed by burial in North Bend Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo.
