Henry Charles Todd, Sr., 87, of Lock Haven, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 at UPMC Williamsport. He was the husband of Phyllis Mae (Dershem) Todd with whom he would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on August 12, 2026.
Henry was born on March 19, 1938 in Lock Haven, a son of the late Martha (Summers) Solt and her husband Calvin Jacob Solt and the late Clyde Todd. He retired after 34 years of service from Lock Haven University in 2000 after serving as their Head Cook. Henry will be fondly remembered by the students and staff at Lock Haven for his excellent soups and incredible care he put into ensuring the best meals possible. He was a member of Lock Haven Sons of Italy and enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Westerns on TV, and using his artistic skills by drawing and sketching. His proudest moments were spending time with his grandchildren and attending their sporting events.
In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by two sons, William and wife Lesley Todd of Flemington and Henry C. Todd, Jr. of Lock Haven; three daughters, Michelle and husband John Garbrick of Flemington, Melissa Lachat (Bill Chubb) of Mill Hall, and Mary Fryer (Steve Phillips) of Lock Haven; nine grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; and a great great grandson. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Cory Meixel; and a sister, Eleanor Maxine Swartz.
Tribute Services and burial will be private with the family. Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Boulevard, Mill Hall is honored to serve the family.
