George C. Rhodes, Jr.

George C. “Dusty” Rhodes, Jr., 68, of Jersey Shore, passed away Thursday, Nov., 17, 2022 at UPMC Susquehanna in Williamsport.

Born Sept., 2, 1954 in Germantown, PA he was a son of the late George C. Rhodes, Sr. and Catherine (Whelan) Rhodes of Mt. Pleasant Mills.

Dusty was married on August 17, 1974 to the former Western “Westy” Stout. They celebrated 48 years of marriage together.

He had a successful career, working in the propane gas industry, from which he retired.

He was a member of the Haneyville Bible Church.

Dusty was a 1972 graduate of Lock Haven High School and attended Lancaster Bible College. He enjoyed nature, camping, fishing, motorcycles and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife; his mother and two sons, Andrew J. (Heather) Rhodes of Dry Run, PA and Nathan C. (Kelly) Rhodes of Waynesboro, PA and two daughters, Sherri A. (Doug) Daniels of Beech Creek and Laura K. (Benjamin) Hoffman of Blanchard. Ten grandchildren; Elena, Evan, Averi, Aaron, Cole, Liam, Harrison, Jazmine, Diamond and Raven. He is survived by five brothers, Richard, Timothy, Daniel, Paul and Matthew and a sister Kathleen Rhodes; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father in 2005.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov., 23, 2022 at Blanchard Church of Christ, 161 Beach St., Blanchard with Pastor Frank Rogers officiating.

Friends and relatives will be received one-hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow at Haneyville Cemetery.
