Evelyn A. Pickering

Evelyn A. (Mayers) Pickering, 80, of North Bend passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025 at her residence with her family by her side.

Born May 7, 1945 in Renovo she was a daughter of the late Leon and Margaret (Gallagher) Mayers.

Evelyn was married July 16, 1966 to Robert W. Pickering. They celebrated 60 years of marriage together.

She worked as an LPN and charge nurse for nursing homes in York and Harrisburg.

Evelyn was a member of the North Bend United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking and especially hosting get-togethers with family and friends.

Surviving are her loving husband; and two sons; Travis R. Pickering of Madison, WI and Lance C. (Jennifer) Pickering of Orrtanna, PA and three grandchildren, Joseph Baublitz, Grace Pickering and Tyler Pickering and a great granddaughter, Melody.

Also surviving are a brother Neal Mayers, of North Bend and two sisters, Lois Gentzyel of Lock Haven and Margaret Shirk of North Bend.

She was preceded in death by a sister Janice Kesterson and a brother Gene Mayers.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at the North Bend United Methodist Church, 41 Main St., North Bend with Pastor John Baney officiating.

Friends and relatives will be received one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be private at North Bend Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the North Bend United Methodist Church.
