Doris E. (Kepler) Henninger

Shintown

Doris E. (Kepler) Henninger, 98, a long-term resident of Shintown passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Bucktail Medical Center in South Renovo. She was the wife of the late Paul W. Henninger.

Born February 10, 1923 in Renovo she was the daughter of Thomas E. and Ruth E. (Batdorf) Kepler, Sr. Doris was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in North Bend.

She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved the farm animals at the Kepler family home in Shintown, where her family has resided for over 100 years.

Doris is survived by three step-children, Gene Henninger, Gary Henninger, and Gail Ingram; four sisters, Betty Anderson, Grace Shaffer, Eleanor Kepler, and Carole Bowers. In addition to her beloved husband, Paul, and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Glen, Dean, Thomas, Richard Kepler; and one sister, Greta.

A viewing for friends and family will be from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 5th St., in Renovo. A service will directly follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mahlon Nevel officiating. Private burial will be at North Bend Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Bucktail Medical Center, 1001 Pine St., Renovo, PA 17764.
